La Financière de l’Echiquier has another excellent year in 2021 and confirms its appeal for institutional investors.
La Financière de l’Echiquier (LFDE) added an impressive net €920 million to funds under management in 2021, building on a record EUR 1.7 billion net inflow in 2020. Assets under management stood at EUR 14.5 billion at 31 December 2021, compared to 12.2 billion at 31 December 2020.LFDE has thus grown by an average 19% in each of the last three years.
This strong trend in net adds is a ringing endorsement of the house's strategy adopted through the recent complex and volatile environment. LFDE has continued to ramp up socially responsible investment, with 14 funds now SRI-labelled in France or abroad and a range of funds whose impacts are enhanced by a third-party fund. At end-2021, SRI and impact strategies accounted for EUR 7.7 billion of assets under management, small and mid-cap strategies for EUR 5.6 billion and global thematic strategies for EUR 2.6 billion.
LFDE also strengthened its grip on the institutional investor market in 2021, with another record year for funds added from this segment, taking total assets managed on behalf of institutions to nearly EUR 6 billion.
The focus on service quality, the expansion of impact and thematic ranges and the consolidation of LFDE's base in France and Europe will remain the key priorities for development in 2022.
Bettina Ducat, CEO of La Financière de l’Echiquier, said: “These latest record results are a further endorsement of the rightness of our strategies and pioneering and innovative market positioning. They reflect the expertise of our portfolio management team, the driving force that makes La Financière de l’Echiquier a leader in its market.”
